Donald Shadbolt Obituary

Donald Malcolm Shadbolt, passed away peacefully in Nanaimo, BC on September 14, 2018 at the age of 87. His youngest son was at his side. Donald’s wife Evelyn passed away two years before. Donald is survived by his sons Murray (Lianne) and Daniel (Beverlee); his grandchildren Laura, Leslie, Deanna, Steven and Scott; his great grandchildren Jasmine and Devin Quirk; Tyson and Allison Bennett; Samantha, Hayden and Olivia Thorogood; as well as his younger brother Walter Shadbolt (Evelyn).

Donald was a family man and a successful business man. Donald held journeyman status in automobile mechanics, gas welding, and electric welding. He went on to develop and manage a successful business that he owned with his wife Evelyn.

Donald was a devoted husband and father and an active member of the Anglican Church and the Oceanside Stroke Recovery Society. He was always grateful for the beautiful world in which he lived, and he cherished family and friends. He believed that we were put on this earth to take care of each other and he was characterized by his love of others and generosity of spirit. He will be missed.
