Obituary

Barrie Burden Obituary It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barrie Burden on Feb 1st 2023 after a brief illness. Born March 06 1938 in Brandon Manitoba to Irene Clack and Albert Burden, Barrie was pre-deceased by his son Craig and fist wife Victoria (Makarowski) second wife Claudette Dorian. He is survived by his daughters Karen (sons Collin and Keegan, their faither Phillip) and daughter Colleen (husband Mike, sons Connor and Liam) and step children Michelle (husband Brett, and children Nicole and Carson), Michael and Daniel and many good and dear friends. Barrie lived in Edmonton Alberta for most of his life where he worked for Edmonton Telephones before becoming a very successful Realtor at both Remax and Royal Lepage where he received the MLS Platinum Medallion Club award. Upon his retirement he moved to Qualicum Beach to be close to his family. Barrie was a lover of animals, in particular he loved his dogs over the years and will be very missed by his loyal dog Toby. Always a patriot, he was also an ardent supporter of the Canadian Armed Forces. Many will remember his fight to fly the Canadian Flag at his condo in Qualicum Beach. He enjoyed feeding birds on his back patio, a virtual aviary. He was an avid football and hockey fan, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SPCA.
