Barry Michael Kallies, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in Nanaimo,

British Columbia.

Born on February 21, 1951, in Renfrew, Ontario, Barry lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep thoughtfulness,

and a sharp dry sense of humour that brought joy to those around him.

Barry was the beloved husband of Carole and a cherished brother to his sisters Darla

and Bonnie Lea and his brothers Bill, Clark, and Brad.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford William Kallies and Catherine Alex Kallies. His family and friends will

remember him fondly for his resilience and the warmth he brought into their lives.

An avid outdoorsman, Barry found great joy in fishing, hunting, boating, and curling. He

also loved playing cards and pool-activities that showcased both his competitive spirit

and his knack for strategy.

Even after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in

2003, Barry remained determined to enjoy life to the fullest. He continued to pursue his

passions with unwavering enthusiasm, particularly playing pool at the Legion, a pastime

that brought him camaraderie and happiness.

Barry's quiet demeanour belied a mind full of depth and wit. His dry sense of humour

was legendary among those who knew him well, offering moments of levity even during

challenging limes.

He faced life's obstacles with courage and grace, leaving behind an

enduring example of perseverance.

May Barry's memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
