Obituary

Brian was born on May 12, 1958 and sadly died suddenly at home on January 9, 2016. He is survived by his loving parents, Ruth and Gerry, sisters Karen and Christine (Ron), and brother Craig as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins. Brian was a sculptor in stone, wood and bronze. He graduated from a two year academic course at Capilano College and then continued his training at the College Art Institute Programme. Brian had an extremely sensitive appreciation of the world around him. He loved beautiful things. He cared deeply for animals. An avid reader with a keen interest in history and problem solving, he had a very inquiring mind. Above all, Brian was an artist. His path, like his art, was singular. Trusting and loyal, generous and kind, he faced life's difficulties with courage and determination. Always meticulous, he took pride in the work of his hands. He leaves so much for our hands to touch and our hearts to admire. Brian will be sorely missed. There will be a Celebration of Life for Brian on Saturday, January 30th at 2:00 p.m. to be held at the Greentree Village Recreation Centre, located on the 4700 block corner of Village Drive and Garden Grove Drive in Burnaby, B.C. "Art is the stored honey of the human soul gathered on wings of misery and travail." Published in The North Shore News from Jan. 27 to Feb. 25, 2016 SERVICES Cremation
