Calvin Morrison Obituary In Loving Memory Of
Calvin C. Morrison
1939 - 2025
Calvin C. Morrison, known affectionately as Cal to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, with his children by his side. Born on November 25, 1939, in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Cal's early years in Boston, Massachusetts and Cape Breton shaped a life marked by hard work, community involvement, and a love for the water.
Cal's professional life was as diverse as it was dedicated. After many years of driving charter bus in Cape Breton, NS he got on with the Department of Highways in his hometown of Baddeck. In 1979 he moved his family out west to Fort McMurray where he worked until retirement in 2003 as a heavy equipment operator. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his commitment to his community. Cal was an active member of the Baddeck Yacht Club and minor hockey clubs in Baddeck and Fort McMurray. His passion also took him on the road and behind the wheel driving bus and transporting hockey teams in Fort McMurray for many years.
Family was the cornerstone of Cal's life. Left behind to mourn his loss are his children, JC (Shelley), and Ann (Mark), Aaron (Tanya) as well as his cherished grandchildren, Evan, Sara, Kenslie, Riley, Taylor, Brianna, and great granddaughter Jacey Anna. Cals family benefited from his wisdom, humour, and the guiding hand with which he helped them set sail on their own life journeys.
As we bid farewell to Cal, we celebrate a life well lived. Cal's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire us all.
Cals family extend their appreciation to the staff and management of Eagle Park Health Care Facility in Qualicum Beach and David Lloyd Jones Long Term Care Home in Kelowna for their compassionate care and support provided to him over the past few years.
