Claire Marie
Wilson
December 5, 1942 – January 1, 2026
In Loving Memory
Born in the Foothills region of Alberta on December 5, 1942, to Wilfred and Dora Pitre,
Claire Marie Wilson passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in Qualicum Beach,
B.C., with her partner, David Archer, by her side.
A longtime resident of Qualicum Beach and Langley, Claire will be lovingly remembered
as a devoted mother, wife, partner, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She
passed away following a brief battle with cancer.
A graduate of St. Anthony's Catholic School, Claire pursued a career in teaching,
influencing countless learners over the years. She taught students in Port Alberni and at
UBC, and spent much of her career teaching kindergarten at County Line Elementary.
Her sons continue to hear from former students who fondly recall the positive and
lasting impact she had on their lives.
Claire was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wayne, with whom she shared many
wonderful years, including a fulfilling retirement. She was also predeceased by her
brother Louis and her parents, Wilfred and Dora. Following Wayne's passing, Claire
found companionship and love with David Archer. The family is deeply grateful for the
care, comfort, and love David provided Claire, especially during her illness.
Claire is survived by her sons, Rob and Ryan; her grandchildren, Bella, Naomi, and
Dayne; her sisters, Leona and Lorraine; her brothers, Paul and Ken; as well as
numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Strong in her faith, Claire found comfort in knowing that while her earthly journey was
ending, an eternal home had been prepared for her in heaven.
Please join us in celebrating Claire's life with a funeral mass and reception of family and friends on February 21 at Church of Ascension, 887 Wembley Road, Parksville, B.C., at 11 am with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in her memory.
