David Benoit Obituary In Loving Memory Of David Benoit June 5, 1934 - October 28, 2024 David Benoit, 90, passed away peacefully on October 28th ,2024 with his family by his side. Born June 5, 1934. Dave lived a full life and touched the lives of many. Dave started his working life logging in Terrace. Dave married Shirley Reynolds in 1955 and they raised their 5 children in the Chilcotin where Dave held the position of Highways Forman. Dave and Shirley contributed much to the Chilcotin area including the construction of the Anahim Lake Airport and many other regional improvements. Dave was a private pilot, avid hunter and fisherman. Transferring to Parksville in 1975, Dave was responsible for the maintenance of the highway, including a special project for the Minister of Highways, until his retirement in 1989. Dave and Shirley lived in the Whiskey Creek area and Dave was the Go-To guy for any neighbor who needed something fixed or built in his workshop. He ingenious in his inventions. Dave is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley and his five children; Barb, Deb, Lindy (Eric), Fred (Milynne) and Mike. 12 Grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dave has requested there be no service, just a quiet family gathering.
