Obituary

Dean Jesperson Obituary Dean Gordon Jesperson, 56, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 25th, 2018. He was a resident at the Gardens at Qualicum Beach for the past six years where he was well cared for by staff, who over the years became friends. Deans days were spent with visits from parishioners of St. Stephens, fellow residents of the Gardens, friends and family. He always looked forward to video game time watching his two daughters Talya, 23, and Janaya, 21, play various family favourites including Hot Shots Golf and The Legend of Zelda. Dean always had a love for sharing good food with friends and family. Sunday night dinners with family turned into Chinese delivery for any and every occasion delivered to the care home. Even the care staff was known on occasion to place an order for Cashew Gai Ding, a dish that became his favorite back in the early days of his relationship with Darrelle in Vancouver. Dean and Darrelle met in 1991 when they both lived in the same apartment building. They were married in 1993 and this year celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. As a couple they spent time playing slo-pitch softball, entertaining with family and friends, attending concerts, and camping through out BC and the US coast. Dean was a sports enthusiast and with his passing the Canucks have lost a devoted fan. The many sports that Dean played included basketball, soccer, floor and ice hockey. He even had a short stint on the cricket pitch. When he wasnt playing sports he cheered on his daughter Talya with curling and Janaya with sailing. Dean was also a very proud "dance dad" for both of his girls. Dean will be remembered by family including brother Darren and sisters Deborah, Darlene and Donna, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and by friends as a good man with an incredible faith in God. A celebration of life for Dean will be planned for a date in the spring of 2019. Services Celebration of Life Saturday January 12, 2019 2:00 PM St. Stephen's United Church 150 Village Way Qualicum Beach, British Columbia V9K 1L1
