Dietmar Schafflik Obituary Dietmar Erich Bernhard Schafflik January 5, 1943 - February 28, 2025 82 Years of Age Dietmar was born in Beuthen, Germany on January 5, 1943. He immigrated to Vancouver Island, Canada in 1966 with his young family, to begin a new chapter of life and pursue a career in the Lumber Industry. He retired as Head Saw Filer from Weyerhaeuser after many decades of service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, gardening, and was highly skilled in working on the technical aspects of computers. He was an avid reader and had a great appreciation for music of various genres and in particular, classical music. Dietmar is predeceased by his loving wife, Judith, and eldest son, John. Mourning his passing are daughters Beate (Henny); Susanne; Karin; Emily (Jonathan); son, Stefan (Jennifer), and dear, special friend and companion, Linda. He is survived by eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Parksville Community Centre.
