Dorothy Cornock Obituary On March 17, 2020, we lost our mother, grand-mother, great grand- mother, and friend. She died in her 99th year, surrounded by her loving family. Mavis was born in Eastrington, Yorkshire, UK., became a nurse, met and married a Scottish surgeon ( William Cornock) in 1943, and moved to Canada following the war. Bill and Mavis practiced in Lethbridge until retirement, and then came to Qualicum Beach in 1992 where they lived, travelled, fished, and gardened. Bill died in 1996. She is predeceased by her parents Len and Amy ( Brown), sisters June Atkinson (Jeff), MaryBackshall (Don),brothers len, Jack, Al, and Richard. Survived by brother Gerald, daughters Mavis Burrows (Don), Elizabeth Day (Mike), Grandchildren Jason, Brennan and Ian, and Great grand- children Olivia and Lochlan. This gracious lady was fiercely independent, and lived in her own home until a few days before her passing. We will all miss her. A service will be at a later date.
