Obituary

Earl King Obituary Celebrating Earl John Thomas King November 6, 1935 - February 12, 2024 Earl was born in Streetsville, Ontario as the youngest of six and served in the Canadian Navy in Nova Scotia where he met and married Marion in 1963 and had their daughter, Mary Ellen. After relocating for work to the Montreal suburb of Dollard des Ormeaux in 1966, their son David was born. Earl worked for CAE Industries his entire career, 40 years, supervising nuclear power plant control systems around the world. He attended Loyola Campus of Concordia night school and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, Magna Cum Laude in 1977. After Marions passing in 1980, he married Lyn in 1985. As a Project Manager, Earl traveled internationally for work and with Lyn, they vacationed around the globe. After his retirement, they relocated to Vancouver Island where Earl was an avid golfer, reader, photographer, Probus member, and most recently active with the Craig Bay Wednesday Morning Project Groups "Groundhogs". We were all grateful to spend time with him this February as he recounted Navy stories, his favorite trips, and talked about a wide range of topics; his memory and knowledge sharp until his passing. Earl is survived by Lyn, Mary Juetten (Philip), Dave King (Alysha), and five grandchildren, Ashley, Jake, Iris, Rose, and Reid. We will all miss his quick wit, "King gap" smile, and infectious laugh. A private Celebration of Life is being held July 28, 2024, for family and friends.
