Egon Richard UEBERHOLZ
March 2, 1933 - November 5, 2025
In his 92nd year, Egon died peacefully at home. Egon leaves a family he was very proud of, his loving wife of 70 years, Magdalene Ueberholz, his daughter Hedi Frank and his son Thomas Ueberholz, daughter in law, Jeanette. He is survived by four grandchildren, Richard Frank and wife Heather, Rhiannon Ueberholz, Bronwyn Ueberholz, and Jacob Ueberholz, five great grandchildren, Magdalena Frank, Hannibal Frank, Remington Frank, Bernadette Frank, and Evan Morshed.
Egon was born in Germany, where he fell in love and married Magdalene, and emigrated to Canada in 1959, where Hamilton became his home. He was a proud member for 65 years of the United Association of Journeymen, Apprentice Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry Local 67. Egon was also a proud member of the Germania Club of Hamilton for 63 years and was active with the Chess Club and the Germania Choirs. In 1993, Egon and Magdalena travelled to British Columbia, where Egon built a new home to enjoy their retirement. Egon was a long time active member at the Lighthouse Floor Curling Club in Bowser.
A special thank you to the in-home care received from Vancouver Island Health. Egon would usually enjoy the visits, and he was always made comfortable, as well as the Maid Team, Egon was surrounded his entire life by family and friends, and a lifetime of memories will stay in our hearts forever. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
