Eileen Henderson Obituary In Loving Memory of Eileen Marion Henderson November 17, 1932 June 6, 2025 We are very sad to announce the passing of Eileen Marion Henderson on June 6, 2025. Eileen, beloved widow of James (2023j is survived by daughters Joanne (Kenneth), Janice (Soukri), and much adored three grandchildren Alexandra, Thomas and Emma. Eileen truly loved her family and friends and stayed in touch by phone or text, or even lengthy notes in Christmas cards until arthritis rendered it too painful. She lived a long and joyful life in Qualicum Beach with the love of her life. Originally from Edmonton, Eileen moved to Vancouver in the mid-1950s and worked as a secretary for several years before marrying to become a stay-at-home mom. Eileen enjoyed dancing, cooking, and singing along to the old movie musicals she introduced to her girls and could talk for hours yet still catch every detail. Eileen was adept with technology for a woman of 92, routinely texting and videochatting family. She wasnt a fancy cook but lovingly baked bread every week and her homemade birthday cakes filled with wax-paper wrapped coins were both memorable and delicious. Married to an old time Qualicum Beach resident, many in the village of a certain generation may recall raucous happy hours spent on the deck at the Hendersons former house on 1st Avenue or in their rumpus room. They were fortunate to have spent 17 happy years with friends in Mesa, Arizona where they encouraged friends from Oceanside to buy in their park so the partying shenanigans could continue down south. Eileen gave the best hugs and lullabiessung in her unforgettable gravelly voiceand spent her days doing her best to spread warmth and care to everyone lucky enough to know her. She passed away in palliative care at Trillium in Parksville where, even at the end, she entertained staff with her wit and self-deprecating humour. We miss her voice and our daily chats and her sweetly crooked smile. Well love you forever, Mom.
