Florence Markoskie Obituary Florence "Terrie" Joseph Markoskie March 13, 1927 January 14, 2025 Florence or "Terrie" as she was known to friends, passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on January 14, 2025. Nana, as Terrie was known to her family is survived by her granddaughter Autumn and great granddaughters Maitreya, Lyric and Trinity. Terrie was predeceased by her husband John, the love of her life, in 2014 and by her daughter Glenna, granddaughter Roberta, brothers Herbert and Patrick and sisters Audrie and Patricia. Terrie was born in Whitley Bay, Northumberland, England on March 13, 1927. She spent her working years as an office manager and accountant with BC Electric and later as BC Hydro. She retired to marry John who was a U.S. Navy submarine commander. Together they lived in several countries. Terrie and John purchased a motorhome early on and travelled extensively in Canada and the USA until finally settling between French Creek in the summer and Palm Desert, USA in the winter. As per Terries wishes, no formal service will be held. It was Terries wish that her ashes and those of John be commingled and spread on the waters near her home at Pebble Beach.
