Hazel Wylie (Flett, Ellis) Obituary Hazel Edith Wylie (Flett, Ellis) July 20, 1929 - October 3, 2023 It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, and mother in-law Hazel Edith Wylie. Hazel was born in Newcastle New Brunswick. She graduated from Mount Allison University in Sackville New Brunswick and the Ontario College of Teachers in Toronto. Her career led her to live in different places in Qubec and Ontario. In 1962, she married Hugh Ellis (deceased) and settled in Hamilton Ontario where Hugh worked as an architect. Hazel and Hugh had 2 children. After Hughs death, Hazel continued teaching before retiring in 1989 and moving to Qualicum Beach British Columbia. In 1992, Hazel married Brad Wylie and they enjoyed a wonderful long retired life together until Brads passing. Their home remained the central family location where children and grandchildren spent the summer months and holidays. Hazel was known for her warm generosity and sharp mind. She maintained very close and supportive relationships with her children and grandchildren. She valued long-lasting friendships and was loved by many. Her passing was unexpected, and she will be sorely missed. She was predeceased by her son Andrew. Hazel is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Marc) and her grandchildren Thomas and Philippe (Jonni).
