Hazel Stewart Obituary In Loving Memory Of Hazel Margaret Stewart (nee Bright) 1928 - 2025 Hazel passed away peacefully at her home at The Gardens in Qualicum Beach on April 3, 2025 at the age of 96 years. She was born on November 22, 1928 in Gravelbourg Saskatchewan. She moved to BC in 1934 with her family during the great depression and dust bowl that devasted the family farm. She grew up in Vancouver where she met her husband of 61 years, Wally Stewart. She was predeceased by her husband Wally in 2009, her brother Keith Bright, his wife Mary, her sister Rosemary Shaw, her husband Trevor Shaw and her son Carl Stewart. She is survived by her son Roderick Stewart (Michelle), daughter-in-law Marianne Stewart and grandchildren, Chad Stewart (Melisa), Kelsey Baker (Terry), Tyler Bjarnason (Samantha), Ryan Stewart (Elaine), Kyle Stewart (Shelby), McLelland Stewart (Grayce) and 8 great grandchildren. Nephew Howard Bright and nieces Dee Lewis, Pat Allaby and Pam Edgar and their extended families. She moved to Qualicum Beach as a widower in 2011. She will be missed by all who knew her. She loved a good laugh and seldom had a bad word to say. A special thanks to all the care workers at The Gardens and the staff at the Nanaimo Hospital.
