Holli Fick Obituary Holli Anne Fick, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on January 3, 2024, in Parksville, BC, after a brave battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. Born on April 21, 1970, in Calgary, AB, Holli's radiant smile and selfless nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered throughout her 53 years of life. Holli, known affectionately by her name to all, was a beacon of selflessness and compassion. She navigated life with a profound sense of purpose that was evident to anyone who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Her dedication to her family was unparalleled. As the beloved wife of Philip Fick, she built a foundation of love and support that stood the test of time. Her role as a mother to Melissa ( Kyle ) Jackson was filled with unwavering encouragement and pride, and as a grandmother to Makenna and Madison she was a source of never-ending joy, love and adventure. Holli's family was further enriched by the love of her father, Richard ( Marlene) Blatchford, her mother, Elizabeth Starr, and her adoring siblings, Tina ( Bradley) Dobbin, Chad (Tanya) Blatchford and Bobby (Kristy) Blatchford; along with many other cherished family members and a bountiful community of friends who grew to be like family. With a mind for business and hands skilled in the art of beauty, Holli's academic pursuit in Business followed by a Nail Technician course laid the groundwork for a professional life marked by success and service. She brought joy to many through her work at any establishment she worked at and eventually she shared her passion for beauty as a nail technician. Holli's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she nurtured her business, Lady Bug Nail Studio, into a place where clients were treated like family. Holli's interests were a mirror to her soul. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, understanding that these connections were the true riches of life. Her love for travel opened the doors to new experiences and memories that are now treasured by all who accompanied her. Playing with her grandbabies, she found pure delight in their laughter and curiosity, always fostering a world of imagination and love. Describing Holli, one cannot help but use words like 'loving', 'selfless', and 'kind'. Her life was a testament to the idea that the greatest gift one can give is the love that we share and the peace that we bring to others' lives. In every role she embraced, Holli was a motivational force, inspiring those around her to live with intention and to cherish every moment. Holli's life story resonates with a powerful message. She embodied the words of Maya Angelou, who once said, 'Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud.' Holli was indeed that rainbow, a spectrum of light and hope in the lives of her family, friends, and community. Although we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary spirit, we also celebrate the legacy Holli Anne Fick leaves behinda legacy marked by the imprints of her love, the wisdom of her actions, and the memories that dance like sunlight in the hearts of those she touched. Her journey on this earth may have concluded, but the story of her impact is far from over. It lives on in the smiles of her granddaughters, the resolve of her daughter, the strength of her husband, and the unity of her family and friends. Let us honor Holli by emulating her example, by being the love in someone's day, the kindness in a world that needs it, and by always striving to be the rainbow in someone else's cloud. In doing so, Hollis spirit will continue to guide and inspire, as it always has, with love and grace.
