Obituary

Jim (Bud) passed away on Wednesday at the age of 85, he fought so hard even within a couple hours of his passing. For that we are so very proud of him and very sad. He tried so hard to win his battle against cancer. I will never forget him and as sad and disturbing as it was I was with him on his final breath. Take care of yourselves, we are all ultimately fragile James leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Kathleen Hall, Two Sons, Douglas (Hall), Martin and Shelley (Hall), Step daughter Debbie and John (Briggs). His Sisters Maureen and Pat, and was predeceased by his mother Ruby his brother Mike and sister Rene husband Bud Domay. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Nyles, Kia, Clayton, Hinda and Lloyd and Great granddaughter Kaylee and nieces and nephews. James Vernon Hall served in the Canadian Merchant Navy. James joined the Canadian Merchant Navy at the young age of 15, where he was presented with several medals. One recently presented by the Norwegian government of which his is very proud. Whilst in the service he travelled to India, South Africa, England and the Philippians, He grew up in nearby Coombs where he went to school and after many years he returned to be with his old school chums. Every morning at 8 am you would find the gang drinking coffee at the Coombs market where many a tall tale was told. Jim from a very young age knew that his love of the ocean would take him on many adventures. He spent his retirement restoring wooden boats, his favourite was the Rice 'S. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Happy father's Day Jimmy! Our family would like to thank the Parksville Palative Care, for all their love and support they gave my husband whom without I could not have done this. The dedicated staff at Parksville Pharmasave.
