~In Loving Memory~

Jeremy Tom Knapman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeremy Tom Knapman on May 26, 2025, after a

long and valiant battle with cancer.

Jeremy was born April 12, 1939 in Derby England to the late John and Molly Knapman. He was the

middle of three children, his brother Roger preceded him in death, leaving to mourn, his sister Janet

(John) Robertson of Scotland.

In 1959, Jeremy married Barbara Ann Taite in Manchester, England and together they welcomed three

sons Michael, David and Richard. Jeremy was a skilled Instrumentation Technician and had an

interesting career in the UK starting with the British Railways, working on submarines in Barrow and

then in Ellesmere Port with Burmah-Castrol.

In 1978 the family immigrated to Canada and moved to Fort McMurray, Alb. where Jeremy was

employed by Syncrude. Following Jeremy's career path, the family moved to Peace River and then

settled in Half Moon Lake near Sherwood Park. Jeremy retired from Shell Canada's Scotford Refinery.

In 2008 Jeremy and Barbara settled on Vancouver Island to enjoy their retirement. They took pleasure in

many years of traveling around North America in their motorhome and were longtime members of the

Winnebago club. A talented craftsman, Jeremy built an impressive and expansive model railway and

took up stain glass work and wine making.

Jeremy will be sadly missed and forever remembered by wife Barbara Anne (Taite), three sons: Michael

John Knapman (Wendy), David Stuart Knapman (Paige) and Richard James Knapman (Nathalie) and his

seven grandchildren: Bradley, Amelia, Angel, Amber, Shael, Brianna and Lucas.
