Kathleen Elizabeth Donovan (Dobie)
April 30, 1953 – March 6, 2026
Kathleen Elizabeth Donovan, lovingly known as "Kathi," passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born Kathleen Elizabeth Dobie, she carried her married name, Donovan, throughout her life, a name many came to know and love her by.
Kathi spent an incredible 51 years behind the bar, where she became so much more than a bartender—she was a friend, a confidant, and a constant, welcoming presence to generations of patrons. She had a natural gift for connection. No matter where she went, she knew someone—or someone knew her. A simple trip to the grocery store often turned into a long visit filled with laughter, stories, and catching up.
Affectionately known as a "chatty Kathi," she had a remarkable memory and a genuine interest in others. She remembered the smallest details—where someone worked, who their friends were, the stories of their lives—and made people feel truly seen and valued. She knew families across generations, and it wasn't uncommon for her to recognize a young person and, without even asking, know exactly who their parents were.
Kathi had a sharp wit and a playful sense of humor. She was never afraid to be herself, bringing joy wherever she went. Whether she was dancing and singing in the grocery store, at the park, or driving through town with the windows down and music playing, she lived her life out loud and unapologetically.
She also had a special talent for creating magic in everyday moments, especially during the holidays. She took great pride in decorating, transforming spaces into something warm, festive, and full of life—Christmas being her favorite.
Above all, Kathi was deeply giving. She often put others before herself, offering kindness, forgiveness, and love without hesitation. Her heart was generous, her spirit vibrant, and her presence unforgettable.
She is lovingly remembered and cherished by her children and grandchildren: Jamie (his children Luke, Asia, Halle and Maxwell), Lonnie (his daughter Breanne), Courtney, and Cassie (and her children Jaelan and Kaeci)
