Obituary

It is with sadness and love that we announce the passing of Kathleen Ida Fedak (Lea) on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the age of 87 years. Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 68 years Peter, her daughters Karen (Jim), Kim, Kelly, Rhonda (Tim). She was predeceased by her son, Rodney in 2025. Kathleen was a loving and caring Grandma to Conor (Ami), Sam (Erica), Ryan (Roxy), Jesse (Alex), Molly, Michael, Nick (Kathee) and Karlee (Brady) and a proud Great-Grandma to Anthony, James, Charlie, Kollins and Orion. She was delighted that Orion and her shared the same birthday.

Kathleen was born on August 28, 1939 to Norman and Christina Lea. She was raised and attended school in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan and it was here where she met the love of her life, Peter. Kathleen and Peter married in Foam Lake in 1958 and started their family shortly after in Regina and then Calgary, where they resided for 17 years. In 1977, they moved to Saskatoon and lived there until moving to Qualicum Beach, BC in 2015, where they still reside today.

Kathleen was a domestic engineer in the true sense of the word. She was a stay-at-home young mother who had 5 children by the time she was 26 years of age. Kathleen was an accomplished seamstress and many beautiful clothes were created and worn by herself and us kids. Halloween and dance costumes, and many special outfits were the result of her hard work and late nights spent on her Bernina sewing machine. She loved beautiful clothes, always had fashionable shoes and boots and never passed up an outing to go shopping with her daughters.

Kathleen had quite a discerning eye for detail and always had a deep appreciation for Arts and Literacy, nature and flowers. She enjoyed attending concerts and plays and Elder College classes with her best friend Diane. Yellow roses, lilies and hydrangeas were her absolute favourites.

Kathleen and Peter enjoyed “cruising” and experienced many beautiful destinations such as Alaska, Norway, Iceland and South America to name a few. Playing bridge with friends and dancing were some of their favorite things to do.

A private Celebration of Kathleen’s Life will be held at a later date with her extended family.

Rest in peace beautiful Kathleen. We love you.
