It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kay Toth on May 27th in her 80th year of a full life.
Kay is survived by her dedicated husband and best friend, Bill, who steadfastly cared for her through all of her surgeries and setbacks; her beloved daughter Kim and much loved son-in-law Bob (Greig). She will also be affectionately remembered by her cousins Shirley (Paul) Tayler and Trevor (Sheila) Walker, other dear UK relatives, her adopted NZ family (Hamiltons) and her nephew Ed Berlando.
Kay touched more lives than she will ever know. Her kind words, ready brilliant smile, and her innate way to establish rapport with people endeared Kay to all who knew her.
Originally from England, Kay spent many years in Ontario before moving to Calgary. Although she had a very successful career with Petro-Canada she said her crowning achievement was meeting the love and joy of her life, Bill. They moved to Qualicum 7 years ago to be closer to Bob and Kim.
Kay and Bill enjoyed going to aquasize, biking, hiking, and generally enjoying all the activities that Oceanside provides and always together. They were also blessed to travel much of the world making many friends along the way.
Kay and her daughter Kim had a bond of both kinship and friendship that will last past the shackles of this life. They shared many adventures, good and bad times, and always had each other for support. Kay passed with her loving and devoted daughter holding vigil at her side, a privilege Kim will hold dear to her heart always.
The family wishes to offer gratitude to the staff at Qualicum Manor for their outstanding care for Kays all too brief stay and also to the staff and friends in Hawthorne Place for their compassion and support.
Friends are invited to join the family as they celebrate Kay Toths life and legacy at St. Stephens hall (150 Village Way QB) at 2:00pm on June 16th. Please bring your stories. Memory Cards will be available. Light refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oceanside Hospice Society (210 Crescent Rd W, QB V9K 1J9) would be greatly appreciated.
