Kenneth Bordian Obituary In Loving Memory Of
Kenneth William Bordian
May 24, 1940 December 14, 2023
In loving memory of Ken who passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2023 with his wife by his side, after a brave struggle with throat cancer. He survived eleven years after his first bout of tonsil cancer.
Ken was his own man; determined, stubborn and with a very bright and inventive mind. He was a Frontiersman and an auxiliary member of the RCMP in Campbell River. Ken drove the original Vancouver Island Coach Lines from Campbell River to Nanaimo; then joined SMT Bus Lines out of Sechelt doing tours to Reno and other places, before his employment with BC Hydro/Metro Transit as a bus operator on the lower mainland.
Ken was a member of the Gizeh Motor Corps Drill Team and was also a private pilot. He began his own company, Tracer 1 Services Ltd. after several neck surgeries, and developed and manufactured his own emergency locator transmitter (E.L.T.) used by aircraft and helicopters. In addition he serviced and repaired other company E.L.T.s and was the sole repair service for Artex Aircraft in Oregon. He also serviced life jackets once he moved to Parksville. There was nothing Ken couldnt do. His mind was brilliant and he was always thinking.
Ken was predeceased by his two young daughters, Gloria and Jackie, his parents and siblings, and leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Carol; his daughter, Dorothy; his son, Steven; as well as six grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.
Many thanks to Dr. El Karsh who Ken so appreciated, the nurses from Palliative Care in Parksville and the NRGH Emergency doctors who began the process of Palliative Care.
Ken, I miss you so much and I will always love you.
