Suddenly on April 20th, while in the Nanaimo Hospital, Leo Van Huuksloot passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Survived by his wife, Tess, of 70 years and his children Marja (Guy), John (Leslie), four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, loving family in the Netherlands, especially Margreth and Ada. Born in the Netherlands, emigrated to Canada in 1953, Leo served in the Dutch and Canadian Armies and worked as a Senior Planner at Texaco Canada for 27 years. He and Tess retired to the Island in 1983 where he enjoyed his walks in Berwick Park. He was a kind, gentle man, and a truly old fashioned gentleman. There will be no service as per Leos request.
