At the young age of 67, Lynne Jacobs died at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in Palliative Care, on September 11, 2013. Lynne bravely struggled with cancer for 17 years, outliving all expectations. She was given these years and more, to appreciate her husband, Howie (in their retirement years), living in Langley and Qualicum Beach, BC.
Lynne is survived by her husband William Howard (Howie) Jacobs and their very special companion black lab, "Jet." She was predeceased by her mother, Thelma Allan (Lewis) on August 25, 2013 and sister, Susan Richings in 2010.
Community friends knew Lynne to be a caring and exuberant woman, enjoying the simple things of life close to home. Most recently, special times were shared with neighbours, community folks and health workers as travel days were limited by her battle with cancer. Lynnes stories and memories were full of the enjoyable years spent as an airline hostess with Air Canada, flying throughout the world together with Howie, who piloted the Boeing 727 jets.
Howie asks that messages and memories be offered instead of flowers. Donations in Lynnes memory can be made to Palliative Care, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Great appreciation is extended to the Parksville-Qualicum Beach Home Care staff and the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Cancer and Palliative Care teams.
