Margaret 'Jean' Button Obituary Margaret "JEAN" Button Jean passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, at the age of 97. She is survived by her children Ian Button (Jules), Graham Button (Joan), and Lynne Petrie (Don), three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Jean was born in London, England on April 3, 1927. Towards the end of WWII, she married a Canadian soldier and came to Canada as a War Bride. They lived in Toronto Ontario where they raised their family. Jean moved to Vancouver Island and spent her last 21 years happily gardening and making new friends. She had wonderful neighbours who became good friends and a great support system for her. Two of her children lived close by which made for many family gatherings. After family, she had a strong love of animals and was not without a pet her whole life. The family would like to thank her family Doctor, Dr. Kelly Hadfield as well as Dr. Hunter and the wonderful, caring nurses at Trillium Lodge Hospice in Parksville. As per her wishes, there will be no formal service. Donations to the Parksville/Qualicum SPCA would be a fitting remembrance in lieu of flowers.
