Margaret Rose McGrath Margaret Rose McGrath (nee Coote) passed peacefully on October 15, 2016 after a two year battle with damnable cancer. She was born October 18, 1932 in Luton, Bedfordshire, UK. She is survived by: her children Paul (Donna) of Qualicum, Steve (Leonie) of Newcastle, Australia, Tracey Turner (Dean) of Qualicum and Jane (Chris) of Parksville; grandchildren Joel, Kelsey, Patrick, Lucas, Alexander, Scott and Soren; family in England, America and Australia; and great friends. A special mention to Cathy who mum regarded as family. Mum was a loving mother who always had sage advice, a quick wit and an open mind. She was a great problem solver, generous and creative. She had a lifelong talent for sewing, gardening and cooking. To her deepest joy, mum discovered an ability to paint in recent years. Over her work life she was a hatter, an upholstery machinist for Vauxhall Motors, a bookkeeper, a head housekeeper and everything in between. Her greatest fear was that she will be forgotten--but she left a legacy of fond memories too wonderful to forget.
