Margaret Spence Obituary It is with heavy hearts that the family of Margaret June Spence, announces her passing at Nanaimo General Hospital on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, after declining health at the age of 87. Margaret was born January 23, 1931 in London, England. She is survived by Alfred, her husband of 70 years; her sons Christopher (Bonnie) and Andrew (Susan); four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Margaret retired from the Ministry of Community & Social Services (Ontario), where she had worked for over 23 years. Margaret and Alfred enjoyed extensive travel, attending classical concerts and ballroom dancing during their marriage. She also enjoyed her time playing darts at the Qualicum Beach Senior's Centre, where she had many friends. Margaret was an avid knitter and reader and she also enjoyed puttering around in their gardens.
