In Loving Memory ~

Marion Verlie Watts passed away peacefully in NRGH in the early hours of September 28, 2026. Marion was born in 1939 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, and raised in the Quebec Eastern Townships. 

In 1957, she completed her teacher certification at MacDonald College of McGill University, and taught on the Lakeshore where she met Norm at Cedar Park Elementary School.Marion and Norm were married in North Hatley, Quebec, in 1962, and welcomed daughter, Linda, two years later.

 The family moved to Edmonton in 1968 where Marion taught outside the city. When the family moved to Nova Scotia in 1971, Marion continued to teach in Dartmouth and New Ross for over 25 years. In 1995, She took early retirement with Norm and moved across the country to Vancouver Island to join Linda in BC. 

Marion devoted many hours to golf and Rotary in her retirement. While at Eaglecrest Golf Club, she was active organizing ladies’ golf. And she served as a president of the Rotary Club of Qualicum Beach, being involved in local community projects, as well as international service projects. Marion had a passion for travel, organizing many tours and cruises for her and Norm. Her love of gardening and nature were always an integral part of her life. 

A celebration of life will be held locally when the weather grows warmer.
