It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Matthew following a long and courageous battle with Cancer. Matthew will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Diane of 43 years; his daughter, Colleen (Blain) Hanson; his son, Matthew Jr. (Shelley) Murray; and grandchildren, McKayla, Marissa, Cheyanne and Matthew. He is also survived by two sisters, Janet and Betty, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staffs at the Palliative Care Unit in Nanaimo General Hospital and Oceanside Hospice in Qualicum Beach for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Matthews honour to either organization would be greatly appreciated.
