Patricia Carter Obituary On February 12, 2025, Patricia Carter of Qualicum Beach, BC, passed away in the early morning. In Nanaimo General Hospitals Palliative Care Unit, her hand was held by her daughter, Jo-
Ann as she peacefully went to be with the angels. Pat will be deeply missed and survived by her husband Hubert Carter and daughterJo-Ann Carter (Al Modin). Her grandchildren Allanda Carter(Geoff Kendrick), Brendan Carter, Gabriella Proietti (Harel Flores) and Haylee Proietti. Pat will be dearly missed by her loving extended family and many close friends who had all been by her side for many years. She will be meeting her predeceased son, Allan Carter, father, Gordon Howard, mother, Ellen Howard, as well as her sister Edith Betts in Heaven.
In her early teens she met her husband, Bert. Married by 19 and 20, they celebrated 65 years of marriage in August 2024. Manitoba born and raised, they later moved across the country to Victoria, BC. Pat became a nurse while Bert had enlisted in the RCN. Pat committed her time to helping others and raising her son and daughter.
After Berts retirement from the Navy, Pat and he became business and lifetime partners in more ways than one. Where Bert was, Pat would not be far away, from road
trips to Mexico to staycations at Nanoose Bay and Carters Pond. She always enjoyed a game of crib and a dark rum & coke. She was known to have a great care for wildlife and her garden
at Carters Pond. As a 40-year member of the Lions Club, Pat was no stranger to helping others. She volunteered to drive the Seniors Housing residents, CNIB members to bowling practice
and held the line at the Lions pancake breakfasts.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to long time family friends the Macks, especially Teresa, and the nurses, doctors, and all staff at the Nanaimo Hospital Palliative Care
Unit. As well as Al, who created an accessible environment for Pat in her own home, in these later years. We invite you to join us in celebrating Pats life at Carters Pond on Sunday May 18, 2025, at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Pats name to the Qualicum Bay Lions Club programs and bursaries, this will be greatly appreciated.
