Peter Steranka Obituary It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Steranka at Nanaimo General Hospital on the morning of Jan 11th, 2024 at the age of 84 years. Peter is survived by his loving wife Diane Steranka of 29 years and will be remembered and missed by his son Scott Steranka of Rama Saskatchewan, his wife Andrea and their children Tyson and Megan. As well Peter is also survived by his other son Jeff Steranka of Calgary Alberta, his wife Dayna and their children Cole and Lauren. Peter was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary Steranka, his brother Steve Steranka, his sister Gloria Dutchak and Carol Steranka (his previous spouse who passed away from Cancer). Peter was born in Canora, Saskatchewan on Jan 5, 1940 and was raised in the Donwell Saskatchewan district. Peter attended high school in Canora Saskatchewan where he graduated in the Class of 58 and then began his banking career in Invermay Saskatchewan. In Peters younger days he enjoyed playing baseball, curling, camping, hunting, fishing and hiking with his family. After he retired from a lifelong career at the Royal Bank in 1995, Peter moved to Qualicum Beach, British Columbia with Diane, where he enjoyed sailing, golfing, skiing and enjoying nature walks in the area. Peters wishes were to be cremated and leave this world with little fanfare. As such the family will be returning Peter to the ocean waters that he enjoyed so much in a private ceremony.
