Peter 'Pete' Swann Obituary Pete Loved and Lived life to the fullest. He was born and raised in Ontario, spending his summers in Huntsville on Fairy Lake. In 1972 he hitch-hiked to BC and fell in love with the coast. And there was no turning back! He instantly became an entrepreneur, settling into Island life.
Pete purchased land in Qualicum Bay in 1981 to set down his roots, however, he spent most of his young musical years in Vancouver. A musical highlight was playing the Plaza of Nations for Expo 86. In 1988 he moved his family to Australia where he ROCKED the continent. He returned to Qualicum Bay in 1998.
A true craftsman with a magical gift for creation. Pete's love for the Persistence- a 50ft wooden sailboat, he rebuilt from the stern stem up was evident. The meticulous planning, building and erecting the 40ft masts was truly amazing. Oh and the sailing adventures she brought!
The transformation of the beach house was EPIC. A ruin down, tear-down house that he restored and reinvented to be shared and welcomed for all.
Pete's love and passion for music was immediately obvious to all who saw and heard him. He shared his gift genuinely and always encouraged others to play.
A brilliant and humble individual, Pete was known and respected for his Integrity. You always knew where you stood with him. His magnetic smile and twinkle in his eyes will forever be remembered by all.
