Philomena 'Phil' Beers Obituary In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing, in her 97th year, of Philomena (Phil) Beers (ne McCabe) , in the gentle care of the staff of The Gardens, Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
She was born on the 27th October 1923 in Ireland. She is predeceased by her parents Frances and Patrick McCabe, siblings Father Paddy, Eileen, Stannie, Ray, baby Stephanie and Dorrie (Faherty).
She was the adored wife and cherished partner for 48 years of the late Burton Beers (deceased 26th July 2018).
Phil spent 57 years on Vancouver Island and British Columbia and worked for many years until her retirement in the dedicated service and care to others as a nurse and midwife.
She is deeply regretted and missed by her Brother in law Wayne Beers and wife Lera (New Brunswick) and in Ireland and England her Brother in law Padraig, Sisters in law Joan and Sandy and dear friends Sheila and Mary. She was a most cherished and loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
She is sadly missed by her dear friend and companion Kath Eyre and the staff of the complex care department at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach.
Her cremation has taken place at Qualicum Beach Memorial Services and the ashes of both Burton and Phil have been interred at Qualicum Beach Cemetery. A Memorial Mass and a Mass of Thanksgiving for the life of Phil has been celebrated by her family in Ireland.
