Obituary

Bob passed away at home in Qualicum Beach with his wife, Ruth, at his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Neil and Carolina, brother, Edward. Survived by his loving family, wife, Ruth; son, Robert Graeme; daughter, Tracy (Ray) Harpur and grandsons, Brock (Katey), Zachary and Hazen. Also remembered by brothers, Daniel and Donald; sisters, Beatrice and Janet and many nephews and nieces. Bob served in the Korean War with the Royal Canadian Navy and continued serving as Radar Technician until 1977. At that time, he joined the Canadian Coast Guard as Vessel Traffic Regulator. In 1993, he and his wife retired to Qualicum Beach. He loved fishing, camping, puttering in his garden and socializing with his friends. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 57 years. A special thanks to Dr. Claire Biglow; his staff; Oceanside Palliative Care nurses; his Legion family and many friends that supported our family during this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Qualicum Beach Royal Canadian Legion, #76 on Saturday, 4 February 2017 at 2:00 pm. SERVICES Funeral Service
