Robert Majewski Obituary A casual ocean-side memorial service for our dearly-departed Robert/Bob/Bogdan Majewski will be held on his beloved Lasqueti Island on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Hosted by Bob's dear friend, Robert Wallace, at his ocean-front garden, the festivities will consist of a few mid-day hours of shared food, music, tributes and simple, sweet time together remembering someone loved and lost. Robert (Bogdan/Bob) Majewski - artist, fisherman/sea dog, inventor, renaissance man, globe trotter, free thinker and creative soul ... passed on peacefully in the presence and with the blessings of his daughter at 4:45 AM on March 30, 2018, in Parksville, BC. Stricken by cancer, he fought bravely to the last, with the care and support of his brother, daughter, many medical angels and loving friends. Having left an oppressive regime in his native Poland at a young age, he proudly called Canada home for most of his life. In addition to helping many fellow Poles establish themselves on the West Coast back in the day, he left behind a rich legacy of hard work; a body of creative works including songs, poems, drawings and sculptures; and a caring circle of friends who will dearly miss his spirit, love of life, songs, corny jokes, and keen intellect. An oceanside memorial will be arranged at a later date.
