Sharman Hall Obituary COLIN SHARMAN HALL July 7,1937-February 12,2024 Passed peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital after a long battle with Dementia. Sharman is survived by Bernice; his loving wife of almost 60 years, his son Nicolas and three granddaughters Madison, Caitlyn, and Abbigail, and his sister Moira (Colthorpe). Predeceased by his siblings Michael, Sheila (Keys), and Brian. Sharman was a machinist by trade, starting in the early 60s. He was greatly respected in his field as "one of the best" and could turn a piece of metal into almost anything. He took great pride in the quality of his work, over the years he changed jobs several times but never needed a resume and could always be hired on reputation alone. Starting life in North Vancouver, his dream was always to have his piece of paradise on Vancouver Island. After getting married, he and Bernice started looking toward that end, in 1976 they made the move starting at a townhouse in Parksville. In 1979 they found their destination settling on 11 acres in Hilliers. At home, there were always projects on the go, building new things, fixing his own and everyone elses stuff. He always enjoyed taking something old and giving it new life and making it new once again; and of course, the machinist mind everything always had to be precision perfect and as good or better than new. Left behind is the great legacy of the property which he established a beautiful acreage of a home in the woods with buildings, a garden, and everything built by his own hands. Special thanks and gratitude to his wife Bernice for her years of care as his disease progressed. As his condition declined, she managed to care for him on her own until the end. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society.
