Walter Way Obituary In Loving Memory Of Walter Way We announce with heavy hearts that on May 28, 2024, (Eldon) Walter Way, a beloved husband, father, grandpa, and friend, passed away. Walter died quietly in the care of his beloved wife, leaving a legacy of affection, humour, and priceless memories. Everybody who knew Walter was touched by his passionate and joyful life. Born in Moose Jaw in 1932, he and his 13 brothers and sisters were raised in Crestwynd, Saskatchewan, where he cultivated a profound work ethic, integrity and ethics. At 19 years of age, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force saying this provided him with three meals a day. He served our country for over 36 years becoming a Chief Warrant Officer, answering only to the Queen and his devoted wife, Faye (nee Sinclair) of more than 60 years. Walter was a dedicated family man whose favourite thing to do was spend time with Faye, kids (Barry and Glen), and grandkids (Bailey, Connor, Hali, Brenna, Mark, and Leah). He loved to send his family suppers sharing stories and jokes. Walter loved to play golf and was often found honing his swing at the Candle Lake Golf Course and later the Arrowsmith Golf course in Qualicum Beach. Socializing with buddies on the greens was the perfect ending to 18 holes of cursing. Walter loved fishing as much as golf, and his affection for the sport had no bounds. Walters insatiable sweet tooth and love of icecream was undeniable. The notion of frozen treats would bring his grandchildren's eyes beaming with joy, whether he was enjoying a scoop of his favourite flavour or treating them to a cone after minigolf. During his quieter times, Walter enjoyed wood work, difficult crossword puzzles, playing cards (Euchre was serious business), and completing jigsaw puzzles. His grandkids loved playing Coppit, Labyrinth, and Settlers with him. Everyone who had the honour of knowing Walter will sincerely miss his presence. Despite his passing, his spirit will continue to live on in the innumerable lives that he touched, with his legacy continuing through his grandchildren.
