William Masson Obituary Will was born in Winnipeg on June 8, 1931. His parents were Christine and George Masson. Dad was my best friend for as long as I was alive. He helped me start my career as a compositor/printer as an apprentice to him being a journeyman. Dad worked first at the Winnipeg Free Press and then moved to the West Coast and worked for the Cowichan News Leader. Dad was involved locally in Highland dancing and also played in the pipe band. He loved to play his accordion in the seniors complex locally around the area. He would play for cookies and his favourite place was Hawthorne in Qualicum because they had the best chocolate chip cookies. He was married to Elisabeth Wilding Masson who pre-deceased him. He was also pre-deceased by my sister Kathleen Elan McGinn. Will is survived by his eldest daughter Andrea Kris Masson, Jennifer Doran Jones, Andrew Carl Masson. He will be greatly missed.
