Our wonderful Barry passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in Nanaimo, BC.
Barry was a truly remarkable man who touched the lives and hearts of many. His passing leaves a profound sadness to those who knew and loved him.
It is important to honor his incredible journey during his 93 years.
Barry was born in Toronto, and grew up in Victoria, BC. Barry enjoyed a successful career at the Royal Bank and his dedication to progress and excellence earned him the respect of his colleagues, and left an indelible mark on the financial industry. One of Barry's proudest career achievements was his role in implementing an innovative email communication system for The Royal Bank.
During his years with the bank, Barry moved often, between Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto.
After years of devoted service, Barry and Sandra embarked on a new chapter, by retiring to Lantzville, BC.
Together, they turned their house into a magnificent home, a place to welcome family and friends for gourmet dinners and celebrations, lovingly prepared by Sandra, while Barry expertly tended bar!
Barry embraced every role with passion and commitment. He was a true connoisseur of life. Barry was a lover of wine, women and song! He was an avid reader and life long learner. He had an excellent sense of humor, and laughed often. Barry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a loyal friend. His inquisitive nature and penchant for critical thinking led him to continuously explore the depths of life's questions, always seeking to understand "why" and "why not".
Barry's creativity knew no bounds. He captured the world through the lens of his camera, and delved into the realm of computers. Barry's fusion of technology and photography were expressions of his zest for life as he ingeniously blended his passions to create stunning artwork that showcased his unique perspective while honouring Native art.
Though Barry has departed from our sight, his legacy is carried forward by those who he loved, those whose lives he influenced, and those who were touched by his unwavering friendship. He will live on in the laughter, the memories, and the lessons he shared.
