It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Kent Fisher of Parksville, BC, at the age of 77 on January 31, 2024. Leaving to mourn are many family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Julia Fisher, his brother, Tom Fisher and his parents-in-law, Alec and Lillian McPhail.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Judy Fisher (nee McPhail), his children Blair Fisher (Shawna) of Brentwood Bay, BC and Cindy Graham (Donald) of Prince George, BC, his 5 beloved grandchildren Calla Fisher, Alec Graham, Riley Graham, Julia Fisher and Clark Graham. He also leaves his sister, Donna (Fred) Dizig of Ajax, Ontario and their children (Deborah & Stephen) and families and his sister-in-law, Patricia Fisher and family of Canmore, Alberta.
Gary grew up primarily in Montreal and moved west to Burnaby in 1968 following Judy and her family. They were married in 1970 and raised their family in Burnaby and Brentwood Bay, BC. They moved to Qualicum Beach and Parksville where he retired and split his remaining years between Parksville and Yuma, Arizona.
Gary enjoyed curling and golfing and felt very strongly about building community through service.
