In Loving Memory of Hugh Patrick Hicks

November 9,1955 – January 27, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Hugh Patrick Hicks announces his passing on Monday, January 27, 2020 after a brief illness.

Hugh was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on November 9, 1955 and raised in Ashville. He attended school in Gilbert Plains. After Hugh graduated from Red River College, he married Marlene (Hominuk) in 1977.They lived in Brandon, Virden, Winnipeg, Regina and Calgary where Hugh worked as a Finance Manager before retiring to Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island in 2017.

Hugh was a kind man who loved to make people laugh. With Marlene he enjoyed traveling, long walks in the forests surrounding Qualicum Beach, golf, curling and riding his motorcycle leaving a trail of dust behind them.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Marlene and his sons Tyler (Cheryl) Jared (Khai), his sisters Lynda (Terry) Murray, Kim (Rene) Liban and brother Ken Hicks. Hugh was predeceased by his father James, his mother Maisie and his sister Sandra.

A private celebration of Hugh’s life will be held at a later date.
