Ingrid Diane Sims Brown August 13, 1931-May 1 2023.
Our dear Ingrid passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Ingrid will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ingrid juggled many roles in her life as a Mother, a sister, a wife, an auntie, a grandma, a great grandma as well as a dear, dear friend to many. Ingrid was born in Toronto, Ontario, and grew up in Victoria BC. She raised her children in California, but returned to beautiful British Columbia, eventually settling in Qualicum Beach.
Ingrid was predeceased by her precious daughter Sigrid, her granddaughter Tamrah, her brother Laird and her late husband Tom.
Ingrid truly loved life, and enjoyed many adventures and travels - by car, boat, cruise-ship, plane and train. Ingrid was fiercely independant and had a mischievous sense of humor.
She was a talented quilter, an awesome entertainer and hostess, a fantastic chef, as well as a coveted baker of decadent chocolate cakes. Ingrid was always up for a party or social gathering with family and friends, and in recent years enjoyed happy hour on the sundeck, with her condo friends, and her beloved cat Mia.
Special thanks to her friends, Anne, Pauline and Lou.
If so desired, donations may be made to an animal rescue organization. Be kind, laugh often, and love one another.
The Gift
Be still, my soul, and steadfast.
Earth and heaven both are still watching
though time is draining from the clock
And your walk, that was confident and quick,
Has become slow.
So, be slow if you must, but let
the heart still play its true part.
Love still as once you loved, deeply
and without patience. Let God and the world
know you are grateful.
That the gift has been given.
Mary Oliver.
