Leonard Abraham Toews of Bowser, B.C peacefully passed away to be with Jesus on October 5, 2021 at the age of 89 years. Len was born in Morden, Manitoba on August 9, 1932. He was predeceased by his wife Ellen, youngest son Joseph, father Abraham and mother Gertrude, first wife Beatrice (mother of Larry, Lorraine, John, Mike and Joseph.). Lovingly remembered by son Larry (Janet), daughter Lorraine (Norm), sons John and Michael, grandchildren Christina and Shane, and stepchildren Laureen (Adrian), Kenneth (Mitz), Peter (deceased) (Maria), Leslie (Daphne). Len was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years, a Federal correctional officer and a volunteer officer for the Salvation Army for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and he was an avid sailor for many years. He loved motorcycles. Harley Davidson in particular. He owned many different motorcycles over the years. Len had a big heart and a great sense of humour which brought a smile to his many friends. He will be greatly missed by his church family at the Island Gospel Centre. Viewing will be on Tuesday, October 12 from 9am-5pm at Qualicum Beach Memorial, 118 Fern Road E. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 11am at Qualicum Beach Cemetery, 687 Jones Street. The Celebration of Life will be held at the Island Gospel Centre, 90 McColl Road, Bowser, Wednesday, October 13 at 1pm. Coffee and cake will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Island Gospel Centre.
