Michel Rene Joseph Monette
1945 - 2024

On April 5th, 2024, Michel Rene Joseph Monette passed away peacefully at the Nanaimo hospital on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. 

Michel is survived by his daughter Carolann and son-in-law Jake and their four children, Alexis, Treyden, Nalia and Jaxen. 

Michel's son Michael and daughter-in-law Carmella and their children, Anna-Lynn, Nicolai, Natalie, Avery, Autumn, Abigail, Nino and Noel. He is predeceased by his grandchild, Arrow. 

Michel also had two older children, Manon and Stephan. 

Michel was beloved by his siblings Andre, Denis (sister-in-law Joanne, Niece Marie-France and her children Valerie, Nicolas), Joanne and Marc. Michel is predeceased by his younger brother, Guy. 

Michel was predeceased by his parents, Rene, Pauline and Cecile. He once shared with his daughter that he missed them terribly and looked forward to reuniting with them in heaven. 

Michel was a family man and loved those he cared about deeply. He especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and enjoyed surprising them with sweet treats like, Timbits, mints and lollipops. 

He loved family holidays but he went the extra mile to make birthday's and Christmas's extra special. He always made sure you received one gift you especially hoped for. 

Michel cherished the small things and was always grateful when you went the extra mile for him and he would express this by saying "Oh Thank you very much!" with a big grin. 

Michel will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Every dollar you donate will go to hundreds of charities across Canada such as hospitals, food banks and children's programs. This will be a new tradition his grandchildren will participate in yearly to honor and remember their grandfather. 

A donation to the Alzheimer's foundation would also be a great charity to honor Michel's life. They were especially helpful during the last four years of his life.
