Sidney Patrick Morosoff peacefully ended his earth journey on June 20,2020 on the summer solstice when there was a rare eclipse. So fitting and perfect.
Sid was born on January 25, 1928 in Veregin, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marlene, daughters: Wendy Morosoff Smith (Mark), Catherine Morosoff, Jeina Morosoff (Elizabeth), grandchildren: Chelsea Prangnell (Mike), Alisha Roddam (Nick), Cailyn Murray (Andre), Cohen Morosoff (Rebecca), Rylan Page (Becca) and Nicole Page, as well as six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter Lori Morosoff.
Sid was a true gentle man, gracious and humble, who would do anything for his family and friends. He was a student of life, always searching for answers to big questions. He was a sage, a seeker, a teacher, an artist, a writer, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Sid had a varied career that took him across western Canada, living in Winnipeg, Yorkton, Victoria, Vancouver, Edson, Richmond, Calgary, Ladner, Tsawwassen and finally in Courtenay.
It was very important to Sid to leave the world a better place. Whether it was a brief encounter with a cashier at a store, a chat with a neighbour or spending time with his family, he treated each personal encounter with love and respect and you came away feeling better and better. If you wish, you could honour him by performing an act of kindness and think of him.
