Adrian William (Bill) Jackson passed away on August 6, 2021 at the age of 87. Although a failing heart took him away from this world, he leaves behind a beacon of light that will continue to shine in the hearts of his family, friends, and those in his community.
He is survived by his sister Jean; his three children, Sheryl, Donald, and Gordon, and Don’s wife Sharon. Grandchildren; Kyle, Christopher, Toni, and Bradley, and Kyle’s wife Melissa. Grandchildren; Bella, Mackenna, and Madison, as well as two nieces and seven nephews.
Bill was born in Edmonton, Alberta on September 8, 1933. His parents moved to Port Coquitlam, BC (Burke Mountain area) where they raised their family. Bill later resided in Vancouver, Coquitlam, and White Rock, retiring to Bower in 1996.
He had a successful career as a painter foreman at the Surrey School District for 32 years and was a coach for his sons’ soccer team. He loved to spend his time outdoors, was an avid jogger, and loved to cycle, often commuting to work on his bicycle. He also participated in the Vancouver Sun Runs, and in 1984, he and a friend cycled their way down to the Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
Bill didn’t slow down with age. When he retired and moved to Bowser, he continued cycling, running, and walking to his beloved Island Gospel Centre. He was very devoted to his religion and Bible Study.
Bill will be honoured at a Celebration of Life gathering at the Island Gospel Centre:
90 McColl Road, Bowser, BC on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 2:30pm.
