William Klein Obituary

William Klein (Willy, Willi, Will, Bill, Billy) born January 2, 1944, passed away on June 6, 2023 in Parksville, BC after a lengthy “discussion” with cancer.  We all know he loved to talk!

Predeceased by parents, Alexander and Lina Klein, he leaves wife and best friend, Donelda, cherished daughters Tracey Lynn (Cory) and Kristie Ann; his sister Anni, brothers John (Janet) and Peter (Connie).

William worked for the Regina Police Service (Administration) for over 36 years.  He held the friendships that he made there very close to his heart.  He loved his life spent with RPS!

He enjoyed many years of golf at the Royal Regina and with his new friendships at Morningstar and Pheasant Glen courses in Parksville/Qualicum Beach.  He was dedicated to his volunteer work with the Saskatchewan Golf Association (President) and the Royal Canadian Golf Association/Golf Canada (Governor).  He chaired many golf tournaments on Vancouver Island and worked with many committed, wonderful volunteers.

Much time was spent fishing, summer and winter, for walleye and perch with his friends of “Ice Inc”.  Family and friends enjoyed many meals of perfectly filleted fish. William always said that the best eating fish are Saskatchewan Walleye.  He also loved the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Montreal Canadiens and everything about cars.

A heartfelt thankyou is extended to all of William's doctors, nurses, technicians and caregivers for the care he received over almost 8 years of treatment and to Trillium Hospice in Parksville.

By request there will be no formal celebration of life.

Those who wish to make a charitable donation in memory of William are encouraged to choose their charity of choice, cancer research or Oceanside Hospice Society.

Success is when you look back at your life,

and the memories make you smile.

Willy is smiling.
